I am quite positive that the next generation of 1D's and 5D;s would have bigger sensors and mega pixels not that Nikon has come out with its 30+mp. Hence Canon will soon be releasing new bodies.

Whatever it is... a new release would have impact on users of 3rd party accessories such as pocket wizards. I had been caught with the new release of 5dM3.

When I bought the 5dM3,,,, I sold off the 5dM2 little knowing that I would have to:

1. upgrade my photoshop version as the new raw file version could only be used in the latest photoshop version.

2. wait for Pocket Wizard to upgrade its firmware for the new canon bodies.

Well I hope this little nightmare would be in the past if only these related producers collaborate and help the consumers. Hope this will be looked into by parties concerned.

They won't have bigger sensors, but they might have more resolution and a different raw format. If you use 3rd party tools, then that is a risk you take if you buy newer models of cameras. There is nothing that can be done here, Canon can change things, and all the other parties have to alter their products to match, sometimes that will cost you, sometimes it is only your time in upgrading.

1. upgrade my photoshop version as the new raw file version could only be used in the latest photoshop version.

This is routine--it happens with the release of many new bodies. As soon as the new file format is released, Adobe rewrites its code to accommodate it. I believe you can get around it by converting the raw files to DNG format, but I have never bothered.
