This looks like a great flash: http://www.thephoblographer.com …gger-system/#.U-t3M-NdVRV (external link)

I have been using YN flashes for about a year now and they've been great, my only complaint is that they didn't have a plug for an external battery port. Looks like they've finally put everything into one flash, battery port, pc sync, ettl, HSS and a little more power, GN 60.

We've been waiting for this for several months. I think Flash Hovac showed it on the site last spring.
Its the YN version of the Canon 600EX-RT.

Kevin,
YN has been saying October for quite awhile. Hopefully it won't slip.

Yep.
This was announced last fall as well. Last month they were saying it should be ready to ship in October. This release says the same. I'll definitely be grabbing a couple of these when they come out.

:) Thanks for the fyi David!
I have a few YN items 602 (x4), 603 (x4), 622 (x2), 560 vI (x2), 560 v3 (x3) and love them but will not mind to unload them all for this setup.

I have been on the fence if I should wait for this or jump on the Godox V860C.

I have the V860C and the Canon 600. So far the focus assist does not seem to be as good as the Canon.

I do LOVE the V860 but still on the fences using it at dark events.

I have a few of the lower end YN flashes and this looks nice. Just want to make sure I understand it correctly. There is the smaller unit that mounts on the hot shoe and allows full control of the flash from the camera? If so I can not wait, I get so tired of walking to the flash to change settings.

I have a YN-622C-TX and a few YN-622C transmitter/receivers to deal with this now. It'll just be nicer with the YN-600EX to not have an extra "thing" to attach to the flashes to get them to remotely fire reliably.

The 860C is a good speedlite if one wants to use the 580EXII ETTL control system with YN622 or similar triggers. The 600EX-RT ETTL control system is completely different and offers substantially more capabilities.

Its just a matter of deciding what capabilities one needs and getting the equipment that delivers those capabilities.

I have the 600ex-rt and the v860c but returned the v860c, it's been reported and I also had the issue that if you go + or - of the FEC it goes all out of wack, at 0 it matches the canon 600ex-rt but if you move it +1 or -1 or other figures it doesn't match the canon with the same setting, so watch out from that,

it happened to my unit and my friend's unit

i'd guess the yn 600ex-rt would be a better choice than that v860c. the canon 600ex-rt is better than than v860c

There are firmware updates available now to correct these issues with the V860C. As far as I can see they are working really well now.

I have been reading about the updates on the V860C and it seems to have sorted itself out. If that is true I believe that will be the route I go. Although I may go V850 instead because I like manual and HSS. When they announce the street price of the YN 600 ex/rt I will make my decision.
