I had a 24-105 for about 6 years and I really hard a hard time pressing the buy button for the 24-70 II. Although I wish it had it and I feel a tad ripped off they didn't add it for that price I must admit I have not noticed any issues to date and I'm not that steady. I'm very happy with it.

It's all about the money. The Canon has the best IQ but may be one of the worst values.
If it will be your "go to" lens it might be worth it for you.
I like mine but don't use it as much as I should considering what it cost.
There are plenty of choices in that focal range and most are at least OK.
