Thank you guys. Appreciate the replies.
Availability of Sirui was an issue in India then. I got myself a Manfrotto 498RC2 for now [around 8 months back] at a very low price from a friend. Shall upgrade if I visit the US. Would plan for a lighter setup then.

Another vote for Sirui. I have a K40-X for heavy duty work and macro and it's a super solid unit - not one for carrying very far because of the weight though. The K30-X looks ideal for general use.
