My Jinbei 600 is the only thing that didn't leave with my Yongnuo to Godox Exodus. Don't use it enough to keep it but it's a trooper.

Can anyone confirm that the correct cable to use with the R2 receiver from the RL600 is the 1/4” male to 3.5mm male?

Sounds right but I just looked at mine and it's not marked. A pretty cheap Amazon buy as memory serves

Hi, I'm not an R2 user but most receivers use a female 3.5 mm Mono or female 2.5 mm Mono out - 1/4 in mono out would be unusual. Or have I misunderstood you?

Elv on Flashhavoc usually lists the size gender & sense on Txs & Rxs sockets.

The RL 600 uses a female 3.5 mm Mono in socket.

(IMO it's worth avoiding Audio (stereo) cables - I acknowledge that they can work - but I've had troublesome shorts with same.)

. . . . Mine is the Jinbei version - I heard of Adorama's 'V2' sender but which R2 receiver are you referring to (a link?), Tx?

I know the input on the 600 is 3.5 mm. I’m fairly certain the male wndbthat plugs into the receiver is 1/4” but that’s what I’m trying to confirm.

Is it the 2.5mm output described in the specs???

I called Adorama today and he confirmed it is the 1/4” to 3.5mm that I need. I needed another receiver anyway so I ordered one and it comes with another cable but I ordered a second as well.

Hi,

I'm looking into purchasing the FLASHPOINT R2PRO Mark II Transmitter (external link)for my Fuji XT3 and was wondering if this would work with the RL600? I wasn't able to find whether it's compatible or not and Adorama is closed until next week. Does anyone know by chance? Or can recommend a trigger that can do HSS? Not sure if their old/original triggers were ever updated.

Thanks in advance!

I'm interested too, in setting up my Rovelight to work with my Fuji system.

Right now, I can trip the Rovelight no problem on my Fuji's (X100S & X-T1) with the stock transmitter that came with the Rovelight (V2 transmitter). But, that's in normal manual mode, not in HSS mode. I've been waiting for a receiver to be able to plug into the Rovelight to receive HSS pre-signal and control it with my Fuji cameras.

So I'm following again.

I've thought of selling my Rovelight and just buying an AD200 instead, but why bother if I can get my Rovelight to work with my Fuji system right? Still a great portable light for sure.

Very best,

To get HSS with the RL600 you generally use a Godox X1T / Flashpoint R2 TTL Transmitter on the camera, with the Rovelight V2 transmitter mounted on top of that.

So the Godox X1T-F / Flashpoint R2 TTL (external link) for Fuji should do the trick with Fuji cameras.

I guess you could use an X1R receiver attached to the flash, with X1T transmitter on the camera, instead of using the Rovelight V2 transmitter at all. That's extra cost though, and an extra receiver attached to the flash.

Is there any difference between the godox and flashpoint? And if I bought this, would this work on my Canon as well? I'm trying to simplify my gear and triggers between Fuji and Canon. Not sure whether if this same trigger used on my Canon would still work and perhaps just limit some capabilities like TTL, which I'd be fine with as long as I have HSS capabilities.

Thanks,

I didn't realize we could stack the R2 transmitter with the V2 Rovelight transmitter and that would handle all sync with the RL600's built in receiver. I will certainly try this as I have all that and report back. That would be fantastic if that worked!

Very best,

The Godox X1T-F and Flashpoint R2 TTL are the same, just different branding. Right now its only the Flashpoint R2 PRO II transmitter mentioned above that is unique to Flashpoint (and the AD200 6 dock Charger (external link)). (There are more unique Flashpoint products coming).

Its actually Fuji that is the one main camera that has issues with Canon or other TTL transmitters, so its very possible the Canon transmitter won't actually work on your Fuji camera unfortunately.

As much as we have tried, Godox are adamant they can't add a single firing pin mode to their TTL transmitters.

Heya,

I tested it. It's working. What a wonderful thing. I didn't even have to buy something. Just never knew it was this simple.

Thanks Elv @ FlashHavoc!

+++++++++++++++
+++++++++++++++

Fuji X-T1 body (and my other bodies all work too) + Flashpoint R2 TTL transmitter (for Fuji) + V2 Flashpoint Rovelight stock transmitter stacked + Rovelight 600B. Works great at all shutter speeds, which on this body maxes at 1/4000s and it's perfectly synced with no black bars or anything. It's not TTL. But it's manual long burn HSS. Working great! I set the Fuji to HSS in the flash menu. Obviously I put it on mechanic shutter instead of electronic shutter (you cannot flash with electronic shutter). I set the R2 transmitter to manual and group 1. I set my V2 flashpoint rovelight transmitter to the correct channel that matches the Rovelight itself and turn it on. I set the Rovelight to HSS mode. When I expose an image with the Fuji, it transmits the pre-HSS signal to the V2 transmitter and it's synced with the Rovelight at any shutter speed, all the way to maximum 1/4000s. I just tested it with a 21mm F1.4 @ F1.4 lens, 1/4000s, ISO 200 with the Rovelight set to F8 and it was right where it was supposed to be, perfectly synced, no black bars.

It's not the most elegant solution. But it's easier, and cheaper, than the first solutions that existed with Yongnuo triggers and stuff to do the same thing. No dongles on my Rovelight anymore. The native receiver system on the Rovelight does the job. The Flashpoint R2 transmitter and V2 transmitter together do everything from there. It's not too bulky or in the way either, still light weight, and again, no dongles or anything dangling around. Fantastic!

I'm back at it now. I have a 50mm F1.2 that I use on my X-T1 and now I'm happy to report I can get back to strobing with HSS and the Rovelight in full sun.
