Yup, I noticed the same thing. Seems the YN-622C will only relay the HSS signal via it's side PC sync port, which is sorta unfortunate. Was hoping I would be able to rig my existing Pocket Wizards and piggyback them onto the YN's HSS signal, but no luck. I would have to connect the YN-622C via it's PC port to my PocketWizard transmitter, and then attach the PocketWizards to my flashes. Then it'll work, but is a bit cumbersome to do while I'm out in the field shooting. So I'll probably end up buying more of the YN-622C's.

Also noticed that the SuperSync timings didn't make a difference with my RoveLight. It worked equally well at all settings and only made things worse for my Photogenic lights.

I do wish the RoveLight had a handle on it though, for easier maneuvering.

Now, just have to figure out how to replace the umbrella mount...

I don't know. The Rovelight doesn't have a USB port right? So, it's not exactly firmware upgradable by user. That said, I don't know if it still can be achieved, since it has wireless receiver in it, then wouldn't an e-TTL capable trigger would do the trick? And this is where my split hair start. I mean, as I said I keep hearing the story about how junky the trigger that came with it, so I'm not sure if I can trust the manufacturer on the new trigger. And also when I was doing research for the new light, I have been looking at Einstein 640 and the Phottix Indra500 as well. Considering Einstein does not have either HSS nor TTL, and the news about PCB, I'm not sure what the future customer service will be like. Then looking at Indra500, and well it's double the cost but have TTL, then I keep digging and it appear that the TTL in in Indra500 isn't that reliable. So I scrap that as well. The only other (or will be two) is the ProFoto. Well, I don't think I wanna pay quadruple the cost of RL-600 for what I use as a hobbyist. Then again I never look at how reliable TTL on the monolight are. Maybe it work excellent on the B1, then again at that price it better be. Which come back to the point, can moderately price monolight has good TTL? Because we have none right now.

I was in the same boat you you. I am a huge PCB fan, I have many PCB lights in fact I have at least one of every light he has made since Y2K lol but after the bad news I dont know how the service and the technology of the lights would hold out. sort of like Apple and Steve Jobs. Anyway For the price of the rovelight I thought I would just pull the trigger. I know it cant be firmware upgraded so TTL is out the question but that HSS was something I had to try. I didnt want to carry 3 lights on a mono pod anymore if I didnt have to. I do about 6 weddings a year. I know thats not that many but TTL would have been fine for that when im in a pinch.
my next choice as you said was the profoto and like you said it better work for 4 times the price. Ill wait for my local rental shop to get one in so I can test it first.
I will keep you all updated on my progress.

I just used my old Pixel King ETTL trigger (canon) and guess what? it works perfect in HSS mode with the sync cable.
I was told only the Pixel King Pro will work. So now I have way too many triggers. Looks like im going to Ebay.

TBH, even if the Rovelight didn't come with triggers and you had to roll your own I'd buy them. To have a 600ws battery powered flash with Bowen mount it would be worth it for me.

well after today's test I think i may buy a couple more of these and a few speed rings. I have Einstein's now and they work great but I love the HSS function of these. Now i wish they had eTTL

Hey Drebel, do u have alien bee modifiers u want to use on the Bowens mount? That is my probem now. I want to use my buff beauty dish on my Rovelight with Bowen's mount but can't find the proper adapter.

Does your dish have a 6" interchangeable mount ring? If so, you can get this.

Here's the adapter I use (also posted one page back in this same thread): http://www.amazon.com …0&linkId=OHIMD4VWMZGWD56K (external link)

It works great for the PCB folding softboxes but I haven't tried mounting my hard BD yet.

Thanks guys, I actually bought that one but it's too wide, doesn't fit the hole mount of the 22 inch BD. I guess u could make it fit if u dremelled the hole wider. So, I just bought a 27 inch Phottix collapsible beauty dish. I went with the easy fix. I appreciate all of your replies guys!

Good choice. Guess we think alike. Not sure if you saw my post from #127 but since getting the Phottix Luna, the BD has been pretty much shelved. Advantage of BD is the grid though.

I have the Luna as well. post 134 shows it. Also digging the Fotodiox Pro Studio Solutions EZ-Pro 36" Octagon. Lots of options with the different diffusers. This was shot with it.

Just got mine today, build quality is topnotch and I love the fact it's collapsible, don't have to lug around the flying saucer anymore.:)
