It was hot and windy out but the RL held its ground! The shadows were not completely eliminated but the Rovelight was awesome.

what light stands are you guys using with this? i have a 48x36 softbox, when attached to the rl600... its very top heavy.
any good suggestions that wont break the bank? I currently have some impact 8ft air cushioned ones and they arent cutting it.

The stand I used here is the Manfrotto 420B which I purchased years ago, not sure if it is sold currently. It is a boom stand as well and very heavy! I only use it during windy days. My favorite are the cheetahlight stand C10!!

I had the RL no problems other then the annoyance that the remote would go to sleep. I also know they are working on a new control. I like to look at the remote to see what settings I am on. Another issue was the beep audio changes were too low for me. I couldn't hear them. Still great light. I returned it and ordered and Indra500 which is on the way to compared it.

My take is reviews are a guide but nothing beats our own tests. I bought the RL and liked it but had some issues with it. I now ordered a Indra500 to try out. Based on my tests I will then decide if the TTL is only an issue for some.

Just got my RL600B! ߘ

And same as you guys, the strobe came in plastic bag, and battery & charger cable came in ziplock bags. Not complaining, test fired looks good.

These 2 pictures show what I hope to be some minor things that i noticed.

You may have to invest in a TX/RX system and use the basic remote to adjust power!! You will get a longer operating range as well!! Yes that audio beep was barely audible on this day really wish it was a tad louder. The wind people talking I had to do an 8 count just to
snap photos in between shots!!

How did you get the A7M2 to do FP sync with the light?

Awe, I knew that question would be asked sooner or later!! With the Odin TX/RX for Sony. With the Odin attached to camera just hit the HSS button and it will allow me to surpass the 160 synch speed!!
Here is a setup with the A6000 which synchs up to 1/4000

Thanks Rob.
I've been waiting impatiently for Phottix to release the VII Odin.
I may have to get the earlier version just so I can take advantage of FP Sync.

I agree Phottix is a little disappointing with their products the new mittros+ has been out of stock since January and they have no idea when it will be in stock again. I am waiting for the verII also especially for the auto focus light on the TX!!
