Adorama Rovelight RL 600, thoughts?

With the V flash + V trigger you go as low as 1/128 on the powersettings.

No difference in HSS/SS still 1/16.

I have the V Jinbei version supplied with the TRS-V remote which is advertised as 'improved' but that's unclear as seems the same as previous one however from my experience the early remotes (with 2.4Ghz label) does not trigger the V model.

Thank you both for that info. So it seems that the 'V' model is the latest/current incarnation - with no downside as long as you are not relying on an early style Jinbei trigger. Tx

If I go this route, I'll be varying power with the Jinbei trigger (albeit without confirmation), but actually syncing with my old Odins (but maybe a Strato II Rx).

I'm using YN622's (sync cable) on my RL600B. Everything is appropriate. I only use the included trigger to remotely change power levels. I used the included trigger just to test it and it was fine, but it doesn't carry HSS, and a big reason for me to have the RL600B was for HSS.

About to pull the trigger on a Rovelight and I have a question about the mounts.
Is there an adapter available to go from a flashpoint mount to a bowen's mount?
I ask because currently the only modifiers I have are umbrellas, so I'm not tied to a mount type yet.
But I plan on purchasing a couple modifiers in the near future and it appears a bowen's mount is the way to go for versatility.
Also, the RL600 with a bowen's mount seems to be out of stock quite often.

No adapter. Just the Bowens mount and be done with it. I use a mixture of Flashpoint mount and Bowens and it's a PIA.

If it's just 7/16, I wouldn't even think much about it's being back order. I mean, yes they don't have it in stock but there are places(outside photography gears) that it simply take 3-5 (business) days to ship even if the shop list the item as in stock.

don't confuse HyperSync with HSS(High Speed Sync). These are the links to the graph on pocketwizard wiki site.

As you can see, HyperSync take advantage of short burst of light. and attempt to use the peak of the light to illuminate the scene. This is also the reason why people sometime use something like PCB E640 with very short flash duration to freeze subject. (imagine you set the shutter speed to x-sync or slower and use the flash to properly lit the subject, and since the subject only being lit at very short duration will be properly lit and appear to be frozen) HSS (on the speedlight) on the other hand pulse the flash starting before the curtain open all the way until curtain close, thus take use much more power but the light will be more even from the top to bottom of the frame. That said this is all relative, it depend on how the manufacturers engineer their gear. A badly engineered piece of crap is still a piece of crap even if it's stuffed with all the latest and greatest technology. The RL-600 (or Jinbei for that matter, since they practically the same) take an approach that closer to the HSS on the speedlight. But rather than pulsing the flash, it simply extend the duration of the flash, the flash output is shaped more like a an upside-down rice bowl.

I think I know hypersync vs HSS. With these lights there is no HSS in the true sense. You using a long duration flash burn. Correct me if I am wrong. That is why I was inquiring about AB1600. They behave similarly where as something like Einstein with its short flash duration won't work at all.

Anyone able to recommend decent 48~60" umbrellas (white, silver, black) that will mount to the RoveLight? Annoyingly, my umbrellas (westscott) are too thick to fit in the mount hole for umbrellas on the Rovelight. Seems weird to have something like that be different...
