Yeah, I'm in the process of selling all of my Canon gear to make the switch to the A7RII and I'm finding out there are things about the Canon system that I'd never realize I'd miss.

I'm looking for a small, cheap, portable softball for the Rovelight. Ideally, something like this, http://www.amazon.com/​gp/product/B004XY65WQ/ that folds up easily into my camera bag. I have a 48 PCB octa that I love, but sometimes I just need to travel light, and I'd rather not have to use an umbrella.

Has anyone found an ultraportable solution?

Back to this topic.. Are there and cabled solutions? Obviously less than ideal, but could be cheaper.

Hi, The Odin TCU and the Mitros + 'Plus' can both extract and propagate the early trigger needed for high shutter speed use with RL 600 / Jinbei 600. (I use them with my 5DIII - and - you only need a Strato II Rx for the 600).

My first unit was that way. It powered once. Then the battery was dead and couldn't be charged. I had the whole unit replaced.

Thanks Mal. I have 2 batteries and they're the same age. One works just fine, the other not so much now!

Are there any hitches with these bodies? It doesn't seem like there would be, but I'm not sure. Are triggers limited?

No hitches and can synch up to 1/8000 on the 7r,7s and 7II. Odin transmitter on camera and receiver attached to strobe via 3.5mm cable....

Mine works fine with an A7R2

The set you referenced is for the older shoe. The receiver doesn't matter as you are using a cable. The transmitter needs a Sony adapter (about $20) that converts from the old Sony shoe to the new one. The ones with the new shoe seem to be unavailable.

However I use the one you referenced with the Sony adapter and it works fine.
