Oh okay.
Not being able to use HSS with my Sony is one of the only regrets I have about selling my 5DIII.

(I use them with my 5DIII - and - you only need a Strato II Rx for the 600).

My first unit was that way. It powered once. Then the battery was dead and couldn't be charged. I had the whole unit replaced.

The set you referenced is for the older shoe. The receiver doesn't matter as you are using a cable. The transmitter needs a Sony adapter (about $20) that converts from the old Sony shoe to the new one. The ones with the new shoe seem to be unavailable.
