You can call adorama and still get the deal, however you are only able to order the "flashpoint" mount and not the bowens mount.

phone: 888-216-7500
option 1, option 5

Ask if the product sku: FPLFRL600 is still available for the $399 deal. Chances are you will be able to order.

I haven't pulled the trigger as the 5.7lb weight isn't as attractive as the lighter godox 360s.... however i haven't pulled the trigger on the godox because of the quality control issues with their batteries.

Just thought others might want to know.

Just fyi this still works

Ordering one soon

Not sure if I wanna do two since its only flashpoint mount but that doesn't really matter to me anyways

Well I did it.

pulled the trigger on the Flashpoint mount RL600, 2 softboxes, 2 stands, 1 umbrella

looking forward to using studio stuff again.

Guess I'll pair it with a speedlite 430exII as a fill for now.

What would be a good wireless trigger set for this.

I guess the rl600 comes with built in but until I can afford the other one next month I gotta use either just one strobe (better than the 0 strobes I'm using now) but would like to be able to use the 430exII.

Optical slave maybe and not waste the 30 bucks on cheapo wireless?

Hope to see some good sample shots of these from you guys ;P

If not shooting in bright outdoor conditions optical slaving will work, otherwise you can pick up some cheap YN triggers and cables.

IMO unless you're comparing HSS power or something similar sample shots of flashes/strobes are a bit meaningless.

what modifiers fit the flashpoint mount? It seems like another mounting system you are locked into.

Yup. I have 2 off brand ones that I bought from OEC on eBay. The only issue you will have to buy the Flashpoint branded beauty dish unless you can figure a way to rig up the mount.

I will tell you that with that speedring and some Glow/flashpoint softboxes I reallllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyy had to force the rods into the ring. Like to the point where I was scared of snapping it.

The smaller one I didn't even get to go on. I got the 24x36 set up tho.

I got mine in the mail today, definitely need a way stronger light stand for it. Softbox seems ok. Power is really nice on this thing. I am taking it out for a sunset shoot tomorrow so I will update how it performed for me.

Wondering if I should just use the 10in beauty dish they gave me with it tomorrow for that shoot.
I was thinking about getting some ripstop nylon and covering the open end of the beauty dish to soften the light.

Hmm.
So stoked. Glad this was still available for the cheap price.

^why did they give you a 10" beauty dish? Are you talking about the stock reflector or an actual beauty dish? score!

I actually went with the godox 360 route which is

1) less power.... yes
2) potential battery issue (i'll pop test it)
3) more expensive after adding triggers and 2 in 1 cable

but the weight trade off is in my opinion well worth it.

Really wish they would update that TRS trigger that comes with this. The flimsy "activity LED" cover came off within first 5 minutes of use! Not impressed at all.

IMO the triggers are definitely the weak link with the product. If you can't see the LCD panel on the back of the light, it's a bit hit and miss changing power remotely.

I just ordered an extra trigger via photo gadget ($20 vs $70 on Adorama). This will let me have a dedicated trigger to adjust power for each light and one trigger set to channel 15 to fire them.

Happy to report that Adorama took care of the issue and sent me a replacement very quickly. Thanks Helen!
