thank you, 60" offset is enough for me

Typical Extension arms are 40 in long, so might give you an offset of 20 in allowing for counterbalancing etc. For some tasks, that is enough.

For times when you need an offset approaching 60 in, then a good quality boom would be required with counterweights and a safety line/wire etcetc.

Tested the new trigger side by side with the old trigger this past weekend out to 100ft and the light was pointed out the closet behind two walls.
The old trigger simply would not fire, the new v2 triggers fired and powered the Rovelight each time. Thanks Adorama!!

Happy Shooting:lol:

thanks for your comment , I have a 47 octabox I like to use it for shell lighting setup , maybe less than 60" would be enough.
what boom do you suggest ?
is Manfrotto 420b reliable for this setup? I know Joseph is using that boom too

It certainly works for Joseph!

Or an equivalent Matthews or Kupo boom.

I'm debating between this or two/three of the new YONGNUO YN685'S. How many 685's are needed to equal the output of the Rovelight?

About 10~12 or so, ganged up, at full power. So, $1400 or so. Plus 50 batteries.

Don't try to use speedlites to get the output of a high power strobe. Speedlites are for portability and versatility. Strobes are for raw brute force (and/or high power with fast recycle time).

Very best,

DOWNER ALERT: standard shipping usually trudges along in the US around Thanksgiving.

I would have done that by UPS arrived 2 hours after we left so I had to get the neighbor to go over and grab it so the battery doesn't freeze :(

For me, a Speedlight can handle a small bedroom or bathroom. But they are just way out of their league for anything large or with high ceilings, especially if you are bouncing them. I did a little write up about the rove in this respect if interested.
