"HMCS Sackville is a Flower-class corvette that served in the Royal Canadian Navy and later served as a civilian research vessel. She is now a museum ship located in Halifax, Nova Scotia and the last surviving Flower-class corvette." - Wikipedia

These were take a week ago, and I've been playing around with the shots I took.

I've settled on these two, one is a colour HDR the other the same picture in B&W.

Can't decide between the two.

What's your preference?

thanks

needs to be a little lighter and the left side needs to be cropped a little.

its not how you take the picture, its the final result before editing.

I like color, & wish that the area around the gun mount (at least) was sharper.

Thanks for the suggestions. I appreciate them.

Will have to go back and go over the series to see if there are others that might show better.

B+W for sure. This choice enhances the historical aspect of this ship and the to me...provides a sense of mission and danger...which I'm sure this ship saw plenty.

BTW, I like the fact that the pic was taken at night and I know how hard it is to get everything sharp, but I agree with one poster who brings up the sharpness.

I would not crop it. It's fine as is.

Noted.

Have tried this with just a single photo, ignoring an attempt at HDR

All:

Here is the second attempt, once again both black and white and colour. Most of the problem I had with HDR is that the ship moves ever so slightly even though there is very little wind. Using just a single shot for these.

Any and all comments most welcome. Thanks.

I like the second set, with my preference on the colour version. Growing up in Dartmouth, and living many years in downtown Halifax, this was a constant sight for me. Thanks for sharing!
