No need for a hide, I was lying on the ground, and they came to me. All I got was a 1 eye head cock, then continued on their merry way.

This one I think is a jeuvi. It was hanging out with the others.

Very nice, Trevor; I just read where SW Manitoba is carpeted in some places with shorebirds. What fun! Except for trying to ID them.

What makes you say spotted? I'm not arguing, I'd like to know. I'm assuming this is either a female or a juvenile, because the adult males have spots all the way down. I didn't see any male spotted's. Also this guy was hanging out with the least's, and not just coincidentally in the same area, but flying with them. So hence my confusion.

In the first picture the beak is different and Least Sandpiper have a short neck and check the stripes in the chest and the pectoral its bigger.

And the second one can be a juvenil or when the winter its coming his the point are lacking and the bill duller and check the ring around his eye just the Spotted sandpiper have it.

and also i doblue check the info with a expert in shorebirds.
