Technically, it's a evenly lit image of the Chevelle. Esthetically, I'd like to see the strobe exposure dialed back about two stops, or turned off entirely. Quickster got it right in this one.

This is a composite, as I light painted the car with the flash. So I think I can dial it in back in photo shop some. I will try that tonight. I probably should have shot it in manual mode on the flash but I used ETTL for the sake of speeding the shoot up. Do you think I need to bring the contrast back up between the background and the car. as I adjusted it to bring out the detail in the sky?

I reduced the highlights of the flash, and brought out some more color in the background. How does this one look? Oh, I also forgot to soft proof the first one. This one is.

hard to say, I like the tone of the car in the first one, could dial back the exposure on the car a little bit.
The sunset looks too overdone in the second one.
Of course this is just my opinion ;) Do what looks good to you :) Overall it's a technically proficient shot.

In the edited image, you've gone from a silver Chevelle to a blue one? And I think I'd darken the pavement even more.

Yes I did , didn't I. I paid no attention to the tonality of the car after that edit.

So....This is all of the blue I could pull out of the image without it flattening the car and turning the sky white. I darkened the pavement until I started losing detail on the face of the tires. I pulled the sky saturation down a touch as well. I'm starting to like how it has shaped up now.

What are you using for PP? There are a lot of ways to change just one part of an image without affecting other parts of it, usually using Masks. Three pages on Layer Masks (external link)
My favorite are Adjustment Layers for local changes. (external link)
