Hi again,

I don't see many 30" monitors option in the markets these days, i mean i don't see Eizo and Apple monitors that are 30", so what happened?

I want to buy another 30" monitor to replace my 30" Apple Cinema Display, to use it for pure photo editing so i need better quality or higher accuracy one with or without calibration [I have calibration device], so which 30" monitor out there for this purpose?

It is so difficult for me to downgrade to 27", i got used to 30" and i really don't want to go to slightly smaller size even higher quality, in the past there is Eizo 30" monitors, why they are disappeared now?

My guess would be 2 reasons: 27 inch Korean monitors are stupid cheap so most people go for that when they want to venture into a larger monitor. Second would be production for 4K monitors is most likely increasing thus manufacturers will decrease production on monitors that do not get much attention (not many people get a 30inch monitor).

I see.

Then which better quality high end monitor i can replace my 30" ACD to, i want anything that is 30" or larger, for photo editing better quality, not a monitor for general use and not that higher quality than those high end photo editing monitors.

Do you really need perfect accuracy? If you're doing Pantone matching, maybe, but I think many people assume they need perfect color reproduction for photography. You generally don't. So long as skin tones (or the tones of your main subject) are pretty close that's all that really matters. Overall brightness is judged by the histogram not the screen, only relative brightness is judged by the monitor. No print lab is perfect either, so you just calibrate your monitor, do some test prints, and keep in mind if you need to apply manual "tweaks" to get things perfect.

Not sure why people need 30" monitors. I edit tens of thousands of images per year with a single 22" monitor quite successfully, a second monitor would be a distraction. I do like two monitors for software development, but I use a lot of reference materials for that.

As far a needing one goes its a little like the waitress that asks if I need cream with my coffee. I always answer no..but I really really want it ;)

How far back to you have to sit to use a monitor like that?

If you are having issues finding decently spec'ed and priced 30" monitors, and you don't want to downgrade to just a 27, then how about a pair of 27s? Or even one 27 and a pair of 24's flanking them?

I've tried working with single large monitor setups, but never really liked them compared to multiple monitor rigs. (Personally I like 3 monitors. Put reference material on one, main work space on the main screen, and then support tools and such on the third.) You can also save some money in the multiple screen setup by planning it around a single high quality screen for your main display (Where colour accuracy will really matter the most to you), and then the additional monitors as only mid quality screens with slightly lower colour accuracy.

Good luck in finding a solution that works for you.

No idea, I have never seen one in person. Not much selection my part of the woods.

Well, there is one option there as a high end and 30", i may go with that, or maybe Dell Ultrasharp 30" model, but in another sites member keep telling me about newly 4K 31-34" monitors, i don't think i am in rush for 4K monitors yet, it will be much more way expensive than non 4K 30" monitors, so i will keep my eye on the 2 models of 30" i may go with one.

I am not happy to use dual monitors, i have Eizo 22" already, better quality than my 30" ACD, but never get used to its size, also my desktop is so crowded to have 2 monitors next each other, and i am not comfortable with 2 monitors to swap my eyes in between, if 30" i barely can get used with that space but i am fine now with it, i don't i will have time to get used to 2 monitors or more.

Anyway, i was willing and ready to buy Eizo 30" if it is still available new, so that i asked, i didn't say i hate 30" or i don't want, but i just want to replace my ACD 30", it is nice but it has few issues i want to get rid of with another monitor i hope.

There is a 30" NEC PA Series monitor: http://www.necdisplay.com/p/desktop-monitors/pa302w-bk (external link) ($1999 at B&H Photo with SpectraViewII).

About as close as you're going to get to an Eizo in a 30" display.

Yes, someone recommended or mentioned it, so it will be on my top choice over other models.

Thank you very much!
