I have shot a couple of kids soccer games in light rain without a rain cover. Just to be safe, I thought I should look into buying a rain cover, but the Canon ones seem to have average to poor reviews. None of the lens covers list the 200-400mm for compatibility so I also don't know what size to buy. Any help would be appreciated.

I would think the Think Tank Hydrophobia 300-600 should work fine. But don't take my word for it call Think Tank and ask them. Not only do they make outstanding quality products, but their customer service is even better. Best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with.

For me I'm just looking for fun family photos. I usually bring a few lenses for the trip but I only take one out for the day. No bag while i'm out in the park, I just use a strap so its comfortable.

Personally something wide or a prime is what I prefer. I also keep a 270 flash in my pocket at times.

Some days I just use a P/S too.

Sorry I haven't been on the forum for a while. I didn't buy anything because I couldn't decide. :(

Check out Dan Carr's review here (http://shuttermuse.com …camera-rain-cover-review/ (external link)) - he has tried out 3 different rain covers on his 200-400 - that article has links to his other reviews.

Cheers, Damien
