For the exif, it's the limitation of the lens, no choice @ 200mm --> EF-S18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS.

^ Indeed. D'oh. Good catch.

I see so many instances of missed focus on peoples photos that could have been avoided. And yes, I've had to bin some nice shots because of this too. Oh, and if you were to see my golf game, it's not better for me to play golf. : o

The point of letting people know you are the Photog is a great one. Just bring a notebook for all the email addresses you'll get asking for photos of the kids. Parents will want to see those (or make them aware of where they can see them).

Shoot wider than you think as you can always crop in a bit if you need to but you can't add back feet to easily, take your time, move around if you need to don't wait for the shot to come to you as it probably won't. Take your time.

Just shoot Raw forget JPEG, if you have a program like Lightroom/Aperture etc... If you don't forget Raw and just shoot in JPGE. There is no need for you to shoot both for this. Sure bring all your gear, even if you don't use half of it knowing it's there will add some confidence to your day. Bring extra cards and batteries. Check and prep/clean your gear the night before, charge all your batteries too.
And take you time.
