Just practicing with a new 85mm and looking for some CC. Just please keep in mind this wasn't a fashion shoot with a model in some exotic location, but some lunch-time clicks with a co-worker in an office building conference room :).

I'm not a portrait photographer. So I cant provide too much critique, but I will make an attempt.

#1 the BG compliments her attire, and is nice and creamy. If I had to nitpick I'd say watch the shadows on the left side of her face, but overall its a very nice portrait, that I would be happy with, as a photog and as a recipient.

#2 the pose is nice, the lighting is nice except for the shadow, unless oyu want that. But the top of her head is cut off, it's not that bad per se, but it's the first thing I noticed.

#3 is a beautiful pose, and looks good in B&W.

I know shadow is needed or it'll look flat, but I think a bit of fill would do wonders. Like I said however, I am not a portrait guy, so take whatever I say with a grain of salt.

She is a very pretty subject.

For me, the only one here that looks like an office/corporate portrait, is the first shot. I think it could do with a little crop at the top though.
The others are both really nice portraits, they just don't scream 'corporate' to me though.

That said, I don't make any claim to being a portrait photographer, although it is a field I'm thinking about getting into. ;)

You've got an adorable "model" there. I like them all. Very nice bokeh in the first and the second is very adorable.

Thanks, Beano. I actually wasn't going for a corporate look - just throwing out my excuses for not using a nicer location. And yeah, looking at it again maybe a little tighree crop on #1. Thx!

@ Mark and Daniel...thx! In my opinion, she could easily become a model. She was very comfortable in front of the camera, and took direction incredibly well. Within a few minutes, she was helping by posing on her own. It doesn't hurt that she's quite easy on the eyes as well!

You need to date this coworker.

It could be a 20D and the camera body wouldn't matter. The reason these shots look so unique is because of the 85mm lens he used.

But yes. Date this girl and post more pictures.

True enough...the lens (and lighting, and settings, etc.) are what matter here, but in this case I did use a D610 from what many on this site call "the Dark Side."

As far as dating this co-worker, I'm a little too old and a little too married, but if I weren't....she'd probably have nothing to do with me anyway :). And on top of everything, she's a real sweetheart too! So for now, here's a couple more. Thanks!

Such nice and impossibly large eyes. Lucky you get to see that every day in your office. And lucky for her to have the genetics of her parents to give her that look.
