This dog was close to 100 yards out and I was hand-held with my 70-300, so this is not magazine cover stuff, but I sure had fun shooting it. The coyote was trying to pounce on lunch in the tall grass. In fact, all I could see of it was the occasional tail and/or ear, then BOING! Up and down he went. I just sat there in burst mode and tried to time the jumps.

Ah, the classic coyote jump.....well done! My goal is to get this shot in winter. Or even a fox doing that would be fun too.

Wow you got pretty close to him! Great capture coyotes are beautiful animals. I have only seen one coyote in my life, and he was sitting in the road when i was driving home from work. They are a pleasure to see.

Thank you all for the kind words. Now that it's finally starting to cool down a little around here, which is good, because I've really been itching to get back out!
