I want to buy a prime lens in addition to my 15-85. It has to be 50mm at the most with crop factor included(for 70D), and have as a wide max aperture as possible(2 or less), as I need it mostly for shooting in closed enviroments/low light.

Anything recommended?

TIA

Don't know if I want Sigma lenses, as I've had enough with their autofocus problems.

70d has micro focus adjustment, and the sigma art 35mm is compatible with the £40 dock.

I rented the 35 for my last wedding and it is a beautiful lens. I am also using it on a 70d

When I had a crop camera, I loved the 28mm f/1.8 on it. Very nice lens.

Figure out what focal length you use most with your 15-85. It will help you narrow down your decision. I like my Canon 35mm f2 is.

The Canon EF 35/2 IS would also be my recommendation.

This sounds ridiculous, but you can buy the EOS M with 22 f/2 pancake complete, for less than a fastish prime. Think about it.

Does the Sigma 30 1.4 have the same autofocus problems like all other Sigma lenses?

My 30 1.4 has perfect focus on both my t4i and 70d. Only reason I'd get rid of it would be to replace it with the 18-35. It's super sharp @ 1.4

That's true, I went that route myself.

But it definitely is not as good or fast at landing focus in the dark as my other cameras.

Very best,
