Battery Recommendations

Good Afternoon Folks!!

I'm shooting a school program at my kid's elementary school next weekend. It's all indoors ~4 hours; I'll probably need 8 batteries for my 580EXII. I was going through my hoard and I seem to have misplaced my 4 Everexes.

Maybe it's time I got a fresh set or two; who's making a good set of affordable batteries nowadays?

I have these in my sights.

Any other brands/styles I should be looking at? Any input would be appreciated.

P.S. I have a MAHA charger/analyzer.

Sanyo Eneloops. Hold their charge and work fast. You might have trouble finding them locally (I do) but order from B&H or Amazon. Here's a link

Duracell "Long Life ion core" cells are readily available. I got mine at Target. They appear to be re-branded Eneloop XXs. I have eight and the Maha charger shows them all at around 2400/2500mAh capacity.

I would get the godox pb-820 and your set for a weeks worth of use before recharging

BTW, is a discharge/recharge a good idea when using a rechargeable for the first time (even though they were charged at the factory)?

If you want to know if the cells are reasonably well matched and what their capacity is, then yes. Otherwise, charge them and use them.
