Canon's having a one-day deal on the 70D EF-S 18-55mm IS STM Lens Kit Refurbished - for $836.36. Having been contemplating a new camera for some time to replace my T2i - this seemed like too good a deal to pass up.

So - I pulled the trigger . . . . Camera's on its way.

Congrats! I noticed that for just 8¢ less you could have gotten just the body...LOL!

Congratulations. Wish I was right there with you but I need a house to sell before I can spend anymore on photography. They must have had a glut of 18-55's as it was about $0.50 more to get it rather than just the 70D body only.

I come here for your expert opinion. Please do not hesitate to critique or edit.

Great price there. LOL, they're basically giving away 18-55s!

Congrats! You will appreciate the increase in build quality and the rear quick control wheel on the 70D, and you'll definitely enjoy the new 18-55 STM lens over the old kit lens. It's actually quite eerie how quiet and quickly the 18-55 stm (and the 55-250 stm) focus compared to the older IS and IS II versions. :)

Yes it is eerie.
The first couple times I played with it I thought the lens was broke because I didnt hear it get focus.

The touch screen is great, too.

+1 on the touch and swivel screen. I thought both of these were gimmicks until I started using the camera. They are super usefull

I agree with nyc2sd, I thought the touch screen was just a marketing gimmick too but now that I've used my 70D for a few months I find it really useful.

My only complaint would be the raw files, they seem to not play well with any of the programs I have
