I think such a thread doesn't exist yet. Please post your portraits made with any kind of fresnel lens.

Here are two portraits taken with 2 Lupolux dayled 650.

Thank you guys!

Working with that kind of lighting is dramatically different from working with strobes. It's really like "sculpting" light. Getting total control on the fall off of the light is really something fun to work with. It takes rather patient models though :p

I like the typical harder edges of a fresnel. Really classic look.
Made a DIY fresnel attachment for my studio strobes last year. Only used it once so far tho for a quick testshoot, I barely work in a studio nowadays. (one shot I did with it: https://dl.dropboxuser​content.com …WellsScan-140107-0006.jpg (external link))
Definitely gonna play with it more if I decide to spend some more time in a studio :)

How did you construct it?

Would I be able to buy a 180mm circular fresnel lens from aliexpress & glue it to a 7" reflector or is there more to it?
