I totally agree with your thoughts Steve. A great set. what camera did you use?
Much appreciated Red. Most of these were w/the 5DMk3, but a few with the 1DMk4 sprinkled in.

A very nice selection, Steve; processing photos like that can be tough, but you've done well here.
Al
You're very kind Al. Truth be known these were a pretty easy lot overall to edit.

VERY nice, and you are right, the shadows really add a lot.
Many thanks Ira, I'm glad you liked them.
Thank you bigjohn!

Great set and well done on the processing.
Haha John, I know you've seen your share of shadows haven't you. Thanks for your generous comment.

What an outstanding set! You did a fabulous job given the lighting. Did you add any flash or is that all natural light? The set is just gorgeous!
Thanks so much Carol for your generosity. I am not a fan of flash on birds so these were all natural light.

An excellent series Steve! Great job working with the light and shadows.
Always appreciate your kind words Brad. It's tougher shooting, but the results are often worth it.

Gorgeous set, Steve. You found a way to get the light on their heads and/or eyes, which really highlights them. The hawk is a great example.....great patience there!!!
I always enjoy your comments and insights Ian. Story behind the hawk was that the wind was blowing the trees around and I was getting different lighting about every 20-30 seconds....didn't need a lot of patience!

May have been dappled light but your processing is anything but dappled!! GREAT stuff. Those can be the hardest conditions but then again, may yield some of the most rewarding. No. 3,4, and 7 are great with the light rays on the eye and what I think is a thrasher is just plain excellent.
You too are very kind res in your generous comment. You chose a couple of my favorites too, and yes, that is a Brown Thrasher in #6.
