Only a few left before Cheetahstand is sold out again. Right there must tell you something about the service.

So now I have a question: If I want to fire a CL180 as background lights while having a flash ON camera... (NO need for HSS right now but the YN622's will give me the option later down the road)
can I do so with a YN622 on camera WITH flash on top of the 622,
and a YN622 attatched to the CL180 through the sync port,
and a FT16 receiver in the CL180 so that I can control power output with an FT16 transmitter in my pocket?

Would I need an Odin trigger set instead? I assume the Odins will do everything the YN622's will.

Yes, the YN622 setup will work as you intend. Pass-through for the on-camera TTL flash and it will fire the CL180 through sync port. Alternatively, you should be able to fire the CL180 by putting the FT16 on the other YN622 instead of attaching the YN to the light's sync port.

Odin is not ideal for your setup as it does not have a pass-through hot-shoe for your on-camera flash (you will have to use a flash bracket and an extra Odin receiver for it to work).

Good to know about the Odins, that would have been a huge sticking point later down the road.

I'm assuming you already have your own flash. Otherwise, another option would be to get a Phottix Mitros+ flash which has an embedded Odin transmitter. That would address the lack of hot-shoe pass-through on the Odin TCU.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, whilst the 622c has a pass thru and you can use the flash menu, most recommend the 622c tx on camera to make life easier, but it has no pass thru.

Gee thanks, when all seemed clear...LOL!
If I use a 622tx I can remote control power output of all flashes or I can only control power output with a F16 transmitter in hand for the CL180?

Currently power output of CL180/360 can only be controlled via FT-16.

As above, the 622s can only be used to fire the 180/360 there's no communication for control.

Getting the CheetahStand CL-360 off camera look using a remote head. Super light and easy to carry. No stress in hotshoe.

The Quantum remote flash head mod i did was pain in the butt and the one posted above was much more simpler.

Quantum model QF36X. But hard to find and, honestly, I don't see much benefit since you still need the flash body somewhere to drive the head. Basically it's an extension cord for the flash bulb.

I took a quick look and Adorama seems to have them in stock: http://www.adorama.com/qtqf36x.html (external link)
