A buck and his mate

Went out last night to try out my new 600ex-rt flash and managed to get a very close encounter with a buck and his mate. At one point the female was within four feet of me and the buck was within ten feet and neither of them going more then twenty feet from me for a good half hour or so. It was a very awesome experience for me and the first I've ever had being that close and it's actually the first grown buck I've seen in the area which made it even better.

Here is a few shots I took, (yes I know I need to learn how to edit there eyes to get rid of the glare from the flash)

Wow - how cool! The antlers still have the velvet on them. I'm surprised the flash from the camera didn't spook them away.

Instead of "red eye reduction"- you need "glow eye reduction"!

What a awesome experience!

Was definitely the most awesome experience I've had shooting wildlife so far, it made all the trips finding nothing and getting ate alive by Mosquitos worth every second of it.

Yeah I was shocked the flash didn't spook them but I took about 15 pics and they didn't mind at all and eventually after 30-45 minutes they just slowly walked away.

It was right at dusk when I found them and I wanted to keep the ISO as low as I could (800) so I had the flash at +3. That's the only thing I'm unhappy about is the way it made there eyes go, if anyone has any ideas how I could correct it that would be great!
