Post process, gone too much?

Hi.

Tried advanced post processing this time, dont know if I got it right or too much. I only tweak exposure, highlights and shadows before in camera raw to familiarize myself with the workflow and tried to go further this time. Did I over do it? CC's please.

Nice colors. But, is this a product shot? If it is, then you need to get in a lot tighter on it to reduce the distractions.

Yea, I'm not sure what you are going for either, but my first impression was not that it looked over-processed.

Thanks. No, its not a product shot. It was a friends wedding and just borrowed their wedding rings for this shot .

I almost didn't see the rings. Had you pulled them forward in the frame it would have given definite separation from the background, both by being separate from the flowers and allowing the flowers to be pushed further out of focus.

Of course all of that is subjective.

Thanks for the advice, this principle is really my weakness on small subjects. I mean the effect of distance between the subject and background. Your comment is a big help, Ill do that next time.

Agreed, the rings are too small in the frame to stand out at first sight. Also, if you look at the reflection of the right ring, you'll notice the photo isn't level.

Curious, is product photography something you've focused on producing?

Doesn't look over processed to me, just looks VERY pink!!

I think the pp is good but the rings need to be more prominent that means lighter or bigger or sharper than other things in the photograph. The flowers in focus are very distracting.

I like it, and I bet the couple love it.

I dont know about this but here's another wedding ring shot I took this morning...

To me the second one is much better. There is no question what the subject is being its better isolated than the first. I particularly like the texture on the table too. Great exposure and not over-processed. Thanks
