Last week end I went to an airshow - first with my EOS 5 MKII. Great day though the UK and Canadian Lancasters were cancelled (along with 6 other shows,) too windy, Damn, I REALLY wanted to see that.

Anyway, I did some videoing of various aircraft using a Rode Stereo mic delivered the day before, not bad sound but I need a dead cat.

What I want to know is, does anyone have any suggestions as to a good video loupe for this model of Canon?

I got some reasonable video shots for the first time attempt, but I noticed that when I was tracking aircraft, it being a very sunny day (Unusual for the UK) I was not able to see the screen clearly due to reflections.

Can anyone suggest a good make of loupe that fits on easily and comes off easily too?

Thank all. R.

Zacuto seem to be the go to brand at the higher end.

I recently got a cheap one from amazon (£8.99) it was the Neewer one for 60d/70d and it does the job pretty well for occasional use certainly when you consider the £300 or so you'll be paying for the Zacuto. I'm certainly not saying it's as good or solid as the Zacuto but for less than a tenner IMO it's worth trying it out. A little frame mounts to the tripod screw mount and the loupe itself is magnetic so you can pop it on and off to access the LCD quickly.

An added benefit I noticed is that if you are shooting freehand it helps stabilize the camera against your head too.

Don't suppose I could trouble you for a link?
I searched Amazon.co.uk for Neewer loupe Canon, but could not see anything to fit an EOS5 MKII for under £70.
What you describe sounds like what I am looking for, some make you glue bits to the camera body which I would rather avoid.

Thanks, R.

Did some more Amazoning and found a Neewer loupe for the 5 MKII, does not look bad as it has a bracket which I wanted - rather than sticking something on the body.

Not too bad at £70, seriously thinking about a punt on this, if anyone else has used this / has any thoughts would appreciate it?

This one should do your camera £7.99 +shipping. Must be worth a punt? To be fair the £70 one does look like a much more solid bit of kit though.

It looks the same as the one I got, it's gone up 2 quid though.
