Maybe with a way to set money limit

Price:
Cheaper the better, I wanna be around $1200 tho.

I'm looking for the best gear for the price.

I used Paul c buff alien bees 400 and they were awesome.

Whatever two strobes I buy will be temps but I wanna be able to use them for a while.

Need two strobes and a power supply.
Stands/soft boxes/umbrellas/triggers

I will be shooting cars/portraits/maybe some wedding stuff.

I would love to get ab800s and his new battery pack again bit I feel like it's old technology now and wanted to see if anything compares for the price.

Don't really see specs from them but I don't picture them being strong enough since they look like flashes?

Light is pretty old technology...

What do other flashes/strobes do that the AB800s don't [for you]?

Have you considered the Einsteins? They have a much greater power range, and also offer 1/10th stop adjustments.

I use manual exposure settings on the copy machine

more than you would ever want to know: https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1270039

just about enough info: http://flashhavoc.com …cl180-godox-ad180-review/ (external link)

exposure chart: https://photography-on-the.net …p=16987146&postcount=4591

examples from the TMI thread above:

https://photography-on-the.net …p?p=16978383#post16978383

there are a bunch of other examples by the same guy above if you search the thread for his posts. there were a bunch from abbadon31 but it looks like they disappeared from his flicker acct.

Einsteins or the mettles are great choices for the money. The Mettles if you catch them on sale can be $259 with the battery pack and they are Bowens mounts.

I own 1 430exII and it's not bright enough. Maybe as a secondary but still

I would LOVE the einsteins but for my price range right now it's not an option.

They will be my end game strobes but I need cheap temps.

And I know AB are old technology that is stated in the OP
Which is why I made this post.

Also the cheetah things seem ok but I would be setting up a far away set up and I don't know if those flashes would cut it.

Will check the specs out tho

Eh they do seen ok.

Idk for the price.
Will def keep in mind

Thanks

The mettles look cool for temps as well.

Little 400w ones are like 180 which isn't bad.
I just need something to use to make more cash with at this point

I turn down a lot of work because my lack of strobes

Did you see the new Adorama RoveLights (external link) special?

For $400 with built in Li-ion battery pack (and radio trigger) its currently a pretty nice deal. An AB800 or 1600 and VML would cost a fair amount more than that alone.

Adorama Roverlight is a relabeled Jinbei HD 600 and is a fantastic strobe. It has a long flash duration and will do FS 1/8000 with not problems. The trigger is nice that you can remote control your strobe power setting from the camera. Well worth the money plus not cables or pack to have to mount and get in the way.

Just about ready to pull the trigger on One Einstein and Vegabond mini tonight then you go and say that abbadon31. I could get two of these for just a few bucks more than the one Einstein setup. But would I be happy?

I can't tell you what to buy, but Im a happy user of Jinbei gear never had any problems with their stuff. Since this the Adaroma labeled version it is warranted in the USA which is an extra bonus.
