Hey, hey @Geokras1989 hey, we get it, we get that this is the rumour section, we get it. What I don't get is why people that have these issues with rumours keep posting in the freaking rumour section ?

They need to tell that they are more intelligent, doesn't belive in rumours, and so sees a need to ridicule anyone who do read threads in the rumour section.

I shoot mainly soccer in the UK and use a 1D4 with a 400/2.8 and a 1Dx with a 70-200/2.8.

Both are connected via a network cable and I FTP images using the SET button direct into my laptop.

As winter draws in and I have to crop quite hard from the 400mm images are hit and miss for newspaper publication.

So for me I would like the 7D2 to have:-

1) Built in network port - but can't see it happening.
2) Good ISO to 8k - but can't see it happening.
3) 1D level weather sealing - but can't see it happening.
4) User mappable buttons so that I can lock images via a back button- but can't see it happening.
5) FTP config built in - but can't see it happening.

I could then put the 400mm on the 7D2 for long range stuff - e.g. manager/coach shots and player celebrations. I would then be able to pop the 1D4 behind the goal and run a network cable (up to 30m) to my laptop.

I think I may be disappointed.

just wondering because I havent seen one ,yet there are 20 threads about it. maybe Big Foot is testing it out.

I heard that Bigfoot is using the new 35mm f/1.4 II and the new 50mm f/1.2 II with the new 7D II, all to be announced at Photokina.

Isn't there more gear you can list in your signature instead of making silly comments in the rumour section, that I then have to read ?

I didn't think PotN had put the new thread reading enforcement initiative into practice yet ;)

In other news its going to be a long 2 week wait! Longer still if they only announce it, it might not even come out till next year!

That's the British spelling, arguably the "more correct" one.

It was actually Loch Nessie testing out the new 7D II underwater housing while Bigfoot field tests the 7D II body for shutter speed.

The actual power consumption per hour is quite low for the GPS. So it's more a question of how many hours you need to have the GPS active.

If it draws 40mA at 3V then it draws about 20mA from the batteries. Isn't an LP-E6 1800mAh? So the GPS itself would run for 90 hours on one battery. Or consume 10% if shooting for 9 hours. And that is assuming that it's a rather hungry GPS and run at highest power mode all the time. Unless the Canon team did something badly, it should manage way better than that. Way, way better!

Fairly sure the GPS in 6D also updates a lot slower then typical handheld or phone GPS's as it doesn't need to be super accurate, or give speed and direction.

I find if I accidentally leave GPS running on my camera it uses about 20-25% battery every 24 hours.

Yes, I made sure I would use worst-case figures of a older GPS doing one update/second in highest power mode while trying to maintain maximum position quality. So a real-life implementation should be able to do way better.
