Going to Orlando, sites please?

In September, I'll be going to Orlando for a convention. The hotel is next to Disney World. I won't have time to travel too far. I see that the area is littered with small lakes. Can you recommend some good birding locations? Maybe a google map link?

Orlando wetlands park is about 50 miles from Disney area......Gatorland would be much closer

Merritt Island, over by Cape Canaveral, is famous for birds. Might be too far for you, though (about 45 miles).

It is a great place to roam around at the wildlife refuge, northern part of Merritt Isalnd

September is slack in central Florida. Try Joe Overstreet for returning eagles, caracara, meadowlark, deer, turkey, snail kites and other waders at the end of the road.
