I have the X-Rite software that I use with the color checker passport and someone has told me to try adobes DNG editor for more accurate results? I was wondering if you can create a dual illuminant profile with adobe's version like you can with X-Rite? For whatever reason, my X-Rite profiles seem to over saturate blue and blue only so I'd like to see if adobe's does the same

Yes, using the CC24 chart. In the "Chart" tab of the DNG Profile Editor you can chose which color table(s) you want to build (mine defaults to "Both color tables"). The other two choices are "2850 K only" and "6500 K only".

You can also manually adjust the resulting profile for any specific color - for example, if your blue is too saturated, etc. - this is performed under the "Color Tables" tab.

Very cool, does the Adobe One seem to work better than the X-Rite one for you?

I would have to make a deliberate study of all of the test targets and applications i have used to make custom profiles.

I have used:

Gretag-MacBeth CC (the large 24-patch target).
QP Card 202 and 203
I recently bought a Passport to replace my aging CC24

To profile I have used:

Adobe DNG Profile Editor
Xrite Profile software
QPCalibration
Raw Photo Processor's built-in profiler, based on ArgyllCMS
MakeInput ICC
RawDigger's profiling edition.

I have not done a comparison of the results.

I found the Adobe DNG Profile Editor to work better than the Xrite software for me. I felt the Xrite software produced a camera profile that was too saturated for some colors.

Both software programs are essentially free though, and you can use the same target shot for both, so it doesn't take much time or effort to create a profile from both, compare them, and then use the one you like best.

I just created one with the Adobe Editor and it seems to have corrected my over saturated blue problem using the same images as I used to create a profile with the X-Rite program.
