If I am looking for something that would allow me to easily download the images from my Canon camera to my PC are these WiFi capable cards capable of doing that?

For Eye-Fi, the best source of info is their own marketing page. There is a huge FAQ site here, as well as a support forum.

I take it from the one reply that nobody uses these cards and that they don't do what I want. I was told Eye-Fi sucks and was hoping someone could clarify what cards they use.

They work as advertised, but I use this device

with DSLR controller. Check it out at the DSLR website.

Eye-Fi works fine for me. I don't use it too often since the ipad fills up too fast, but works without a glitch.

I use this device to tether to my PC.

with DSLR controller.

If only the new EOS utility supported wifi tethering, I'd be a much happier camper.

I use DSLR controller on my phone and tablet to wirelessly control my 5D3, and access its images.

I also use the Eye-fi card, but only when I am doing a senior shoot, and I want to send pics over to the parents on my tablet as we walk around, so they get instant gratification of where their money is going. :)

I own a Canon T2i. As I originally stated, I want to transfer files from the camera to the PC. In other words, replace the need to connect a cable to the camera and just transfer it through WiFi.

I notice many of you have stated that you connect it to your phone, but I have a Windows phone and I am sure they don't make an app for that.

Some 7 and 10" tablets are very cheap for android. In any case, yes Eyefi has windows apps, that is what you would use to set up wireless transfer on the card and actually do the transfer to your laptop if you wanted. Easy enough to check, just go to their website.

I use a eye-fi card as the second card in my 1DMIV. I send small jpg's to my ipad to check lighting set up etc. When it works it is great, but when it does not I have no idea why and it can be a little frustrating.

The biggest pain is deleting the files from my Ipad - it has to be done one by one.
