I got a new problem. Over the weekend I tried to shoot in a wild life refuge, and for the life of me I just could not get sharp shots. Looking closer into this I realized that with the OS on, the picture was in and out of focus all the time, about half a second long far, half a second near, and even when the focus confirmation beep sounded, there picture was out of focus. Basically, with the OS on the lens became unusable. With the OS off, the focus was perfect. Any idea of what was happening?

I don't have any Sigma lenses but I have noticed that the AF and AF tracking on my Canon IS lenses (24-105 IS, 70-200 F2.8 IS, 300 f2.8 IS and 800 F5.6 IS) performs significantly better when I turn the IS (OS?) off.
I would suggest turning the OS off and only using it when you cannot get the necessary shutter speeds.

Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

At 400mm it is not easy for me to keep the lens steady, so I need the OS in all cases when handheld. So it is in its way to Sigma.
