Here's a link to a RAW image in a Dropbox folder from an engagement I shot the other night. I'm also going to attach my edited version & I"m just - bleh. I feel like it's just off. Please feel free to do your own editing & share with me. It was shot with OCF speedlight camera left with a warming stofen-like diffuser. Here's the link: https://www.dropbox.com …su6f190/MBP_5407.CR2?dl=0 (external link)

Here's my edited version:

I'm not a wedding/engagement photographer so take it for what it's worth. I think this would be best cropped to a portrait. The couple's expression is great but gets lost in the sunflower field. A vertical crop with a levels and curves adjustment.

Thanks! I appreciate it & your edit :-) I do have several shots of them that are close in, this was just one I wanted to show some of the surroundings in :-)

Mine isn't too far from what you have, just little tweaks.

here's my take on it, lovely setting.

Do you have a link to any of the others in the set?

You're being terribly sore on yourself for no good reason. This would work as part of a larger set.

Nice edit, chocolatekara.

Love your edit! One thing that stands out to me isa bit more saturation & also like how you darkened the ground to the camera left. Did you just burn that? Here's a link to my blog post of the whole session: http://www.michellebrooksphotography.com …emson-engagement-session/ (external link)

It's a good RAW file to work with. Adjusting the highlights in the sky and bringing some of the shadows would make a nice photo.

it's a standard engagement image but somehow missing the passion and feelings for each other. Kissing or gentle touches on the forehead, shoulders would have added more to it.

Cheers,

Thank you! I do have some poses that incorporated more touching, but that was kind of a challenge with this couple - they were cute but kind of awkward about getting real close :-)

Quick edit from me, it was fun to play with..thanks!

I worked on getting a bit of the orange out of the faces, but yet tried to keep in mind the type of light this was being done in and shot at. A bit of teeth lightening on both, a bit of saturation added in as well on the dress and a bit of noise reduction. Also on the mans face I worked on some of the spots that were lit up more I'm guessing from the lighting that was hitting him. Some burning as well as a vignette added.

I will remove this photo tomorrow if that is ok since it does not belong to me.
