Engagement Shot - Just Not Feelin' It

Edits can improve but not fix.
The problem with this shot, in my view, is the pose, the relationship between couple and the sun flowers and the lighting.

Hopefully, as mentioned above, there are others from the set that work.

Every shot during a session isn't going to be a winner. Generally, lighting and pose will wreak a shot before anything else.

I'm not a wedding/engagement photographer so take it for what it's worth. I think this would be best cropped to a portrait. The couple's expression is great but gets lost in the sunflower field. A vertical crop with a levels and curves adjustment.

I agree with Dave that this photo should be cropped down. The background detracts from the focus on the happy couple!

Apart from the lack of intimacy (which isn't a deal breaker) the light is not nice, if the flash was at camera right, you wouldn't have the shadow problem. I try to keep my OCF simple by always aiming to short light the female.

I cropped slightly, took the greens back slightly, used a radial filter to lighten their faces just a bit...and that's about it I think. I like the photo, actually. There are so many ways to go on an edit.

An enjoyable image and I'm sure the couple will like it. I do like the scene.
I thought I'd have a quick play; the shadows are a bit of a shame but I tried to de-emphasise them a little and subtly draw the eye more to the couple.
I may've warmed it a little more than some would like, being late in the day I thought warmer tones were appropriate:

For me the problem with the image is the ground. The eyes are always pulled to it and it just isn't nice looking dirt. I'd crop 3/4 up their bodies and get the mud out of the image.

The biggest problem for me is the light falloff. It looks very unnatural. This is something I made an attempt to correct, at least to an extent, in my edit earlier.

Works well as a 3:1 pano losing the bottom of the image.

What I see here is that anything below their waist or much to the left of them aren't adding to the image. You version looks a bit over exposed.
