Well done Ian. Here is a link that might help. https://www.aba.org/birding/v41n2p30.pdf (external link)

Wow, thanks for that John.

Great shots, love that yellowthroat. Really shows how well they can hide.

Thanks very much!

Excellent series as usual, Ian. You can even catch them in full view, not partially obscured behind a branch or leaves:)

Haha Ian, came "down" to shoot the wee ones with us commoners huh! :)
I couldn't tell you which Flycatcher you captured, but 1,3, & 5 are outstanding. I'm especially liking the pose and surrounds in #3. And your Yellowthroat is an awesome composition for this little fella. Well done!
To my eye, your Gray Catbird is not as gray as it should be. Maybe the green of the surroundings is making my eyes do funny things, but I detect a yellow/green cast in the bird too. Not trying to be overly critical, just saying.

Thanks very much for your comments Steve....sorry for the delay in responding. It's funny, but for that Catbird, he was in a tree right outside a window facing west, and he was backlit. Whenever that happens, I do get that greenish cast on whatever bird happens to be in the tree at the time. Not much I can do about it when shooting out of that particular window, really. But I did notice that greenish cast too.
