So each year I get a chance to attend the annual PBR event where I live. I am actually there in a first responder capacity, but I take my camera along too. :)

So, shooting rodeo is not my thing (just this one time each year), but I enjoy watching the bulls win. :)

Anyways, here are a few I came away with.

Love them, I would say that #4 and 5 are my two favorites, you really caught the moment in 4 and 5 just makes the bull seem to say, "I going to stick this landing."

I really like 2, 4 and 5, with 4 being my favorite. You captured a great moment with 4.

These are outstanding all the way around! What kind of settings would you use to capture motion like this and still be able to nail the focus?

Thanks, glad you like them.

Most of these were taken using 1DX and 70-200 IS II. Manual mode f/2.8, 1/1000s, and auto ISO with +2/3 EC and PP in Lightroom. I think I was using focus case 5 (erratic subjects) single point on riders chest.

nice series here. I shot a local PBR event last year...got to shoot from the 'shark cage' but don't recall being able to shoot from that low of an angle. How did you pull that off?

I use Canon gear...have several bodies and lenses and am quite pleased with them.

Just lucky on positioning. I was kneeling right at the fence on the side of the ring just a few feet in front of the chutes. So when they came out, they were basically right in front of me just a few feet.
