I got the mirrorless to carry it whenever and wherever possible. So I take it up to office regularly in hope of getting some nice sunset at the opposite promenade. The clouds looked beautiful last night and I spent around 10 minutes sitting alone on the promenade. Got some decent shots of the sunset. Just wished the sun was a bit to the right so that I could have framed a little bit more of the skyline.

By the way, this is from Marine Drive, Bombay, India (external link).

Nice colours. Your horizon is well placed to take advantage of the cloud formation. My eyes keep wandering to the left looking for more. With respect, I would have placed the sun in the left hand 3rd of the photo to give the viewer a bit more of the city scene. This would add balance to the image.

Thank you Jurgen for the feedback. I agree with your point. The clouds made me forget adding a bit more balance to the frame.
The cloud formation is what made me frame this so far from the buildings on the right. For some weird reason, there were no clouds [or a single big grey blob, don't remember] over those buildings. Thanks again.

Ahhhh,,,that could explain a bit. Having the city devoid of cloud cover asks the question,,, Are the clouds moving towards the city or away? A lot can be read into a single image. That 's what makes photography so interesting, even in the most simple images..

Thanks for the comments.
The clouds were moving in towards us. But oddly [and sadly] the pattern was not there on the buildings on the right. Carry my m43 almost everyday to office in hope of getting free from office by sunset and having a gorgeous sunset.

Do you have two seasons in Bombay, wet and dry season?

We have two seasons here in Laos, wet and dry season. The wet season is my favourite time of the year for photography. The lighting can be incredibly soft even during the middle of the day which is fantastic for people pics. Often late in the afternoon we get these gigantic thunderheads moving in from the horizon. I love clouds.

Yes Jurgen. We do have two seasons in Bombay. Rains are here from June to September. November to February is usually cooler and more pleasant. Rest is humid and a bit hot. I agree with you about the overcast conditions. Had the same for a couple of outdoor shoots now. But then it actually negates the effect of getting up early for a portrait to get that directional warm light.
And I love clouds too. The seascapes turn out nice usually before the monsoons [around May] due to clouds.
