Infrared - anyone using a red filter?

I really like the look of some infrared photos. I guess it's the unrealistic perspective these photos portray.
Do any members use an "infrared" filter to produce these images? Any recommendations on a good filter to enable this process? Also, "red" filters for that dramatic black sky, and heavy contrast, anyone using them?

Surprised you have not received replies. There are many IR / filter shooters in here. Perhaps it's the holiday weekend thingie.

Personally, I can't really help because I shoot IR converted. However, I can suggest one thing - get a good brand name filter. Over the last years, there have been many posts on POTN about people who got IR filters off ebay at low prices that were not really IR filters - just red filters. Get a good brand name filter from a trusted vendor such as BH, Adorama, etc. It will cost more than the cheap crap on ebay but again, that stuff may not be true IR. Hope this helps.
