two attempts on milky way

Well, I was in a quite dark place, so i tried to shoot the milky way, with what i had on hand

first attempt with the 40mm f/2.8 pancake

I know I must buy either the 14mm f/2.8 or the 24mm f/1.4 Samyang/Rokinon :p, so other than that, what else would you suggest?

well done

yup, the wide angle is great for an all (end to end) capture of the Milky Way getting down to 16 - 24mm region is good for that
To the other extreme you can see how at 70mm you started to really zoom in one some of the bright nebula regions

PS ... dabble with brightness and contrast a bit in PP to get a darker background sky :)


A picture is worth 1000 words ;)
Canon 5D3, 6D, 700D, a bunch of lenses and other bits, ohhh and some Pentax stuff ;)

I will try to see if I can make a better image in photoshop, and return back with results
