I was finally able to get together with this awesome couple. We first met back in June about doing a session together and it finally materialized last week. Here's a few from the set.

I hate to state the obvious but the Bokeh looks 'shopped. Are they? Your gear would have me believe differently.

Great shots.

Gossamer it looks like a bit of gaussian blur was added in the background.

Go with what you believe....it's not 'shopped...enhanced a bit. I shot these all wide open with my 135. I tweaked the expose and saturation a bit and added a small amount of gaussian blur with opacity at 20-25.

The added blur is most obvious in #2, the ring around his head. The added blur in 4 works for me, it really helps cut out the couple from all of the people in the background and with the watermark, works well.
If these were done with the 135 wide open, shouldn't there already have been some delicious bokeh?? :) 20-25 on the blur is a little strong.

I like the poses a lot. They look like a really easy couple to photograph!

I'd like to see them without the Gaussian blur. The 135 has amazing bokeh, and shouldn't need any help IMHO. Lovely shots though. Nice colours, poses and compositions.

Images look great! You'll never hear the clients saying that the bokeh or blur looks fake...

These are good enough to stand on their own merit. No gimmicky help needed.

Great shots, lovely couple. Lose the blur, it ruins the natural bokeh of the 135, but no the couple will never notice the difference, only we picky photographers notice things like that.

I agree that the bokeh from the 135 is awesome. I normally don't mess with it, just felt that this background was a little too busy (espeically with all the people walking around) so I wanted to soften it a just a bit and smooth out the hard lines created by the crowd. Here's one side-by-side.
