New from Metabones (external link), lets you use aperture control, IS and EXIF for EF lenses on any MFT camera. There's also a speed booster version. I am looking forward to this because I already have a small MFT camera and lots of Canon glass - but particularly my 300 f/4 IS (also with a 1.4x as a possible lightweight birding combo).

I would assume for birding the 2x crop factor would be handy. How is the AF?

No AF:(, but focus assist (zoom in and focus peaking using MF) - while IS is active - may be acceptable. In fact may occasionally be better than AF for birds in amongst branches that can fool PDAF systems. Not going to work for BIF, but with a tripod or rifle mount, could be fun. Some MFTs have the ability to use the central 1920x1080 for HD video for another 2-3x "crop" factor, very nice if you're doing a slideshow on a big screen HD to throw in a close-up movie clip of that rare bird! This is an announcement of a future product (not yet shipping) so I'm still waiting to see how it pans out for early adopters/reviews (or even in case Canon makes a good, small, mirrorless with AF:D)

Thanks. I didn't know no AF with these adapters.
