Some of the photos this week raise the standard so high that I'm glad this isn't a judged competition. Levina, "Chocolate Milk" is amazing. I can't imagine how I'd even set up a scene like that and get the timing on target.

Thanks, OhLook. Timing it is hard indeed, and it took a few tries. The biggest problem I had was that I didn't have enough natural light left for a high enough shutter speed to freeze the splattering milk and have a nice, light background as well. So I had to compromise a bit but I think it still came out pretty well.

Oh right! I thought it was a response to the "birds are people too" remark but didn't quite get it. :D Good to see you back, Joayne.

Yesterday we went over the hill to Calistoga for their Fall Harvest Festival. They close down the main street, set up tables and Chairs for an intimate Culinary Cuisine experience served by local Chefs and some Chefs in training from the CIA (Culinary Institute of America). ;-)a

700 Chairs were set up for this event.

Very nice, Tim.

Thanks. Unlike Levina whose shots were very creative, I was stumped all week trying to come up with something worthwhile.

Living in a major tourist area I don't have go very far to find something interesting. My wife gets credit for this weeks adventure. She's a big time foodie, so I get to go with her to all sorts of interesting culinary venues.

Last week it was a comfort food dinner in an old General Store in a small town to the west of here. Our small table for two was located in the relish/spice aisle.
