I'm not a professional photographer and don't play one on TV. Thankfully, they hired a real wedding photographer, but that didn't stop me from having some fun and snapping a few shots of my own. CC is more than welcome, since that's how I'll improve. They were all taken with my A7r and 55 f/1.8 prime.

WB is a little bit too cool and some flash fill would help you out immensely, still not a bad outing(particularly if it's your first time), and you have some great memories of your friend's wedding.:)

Thanks Mark! Yeah, my first wedding that I've taken photos at, and I'm looking to improve. Believe it or not, the WB was warmed up on almost all of these by quite a bit (although looking at it now, you're right, not nearly enough). Being color-blind, good WB is a bit tricky for me. I appreciate your feedback so I can get perspective besides my own on how it's supposed to look.

Fill lighting would definitely have been awesome. I've never used a flash and would love to learn how.

There's not a lot to get. I can count on one hand the number of weddings I've been to, including my own. I'm just not used to seeing tables done up in dresses, and I liked the grass and bushes behind it showing the setting a bit. It's more of a snapshot for memories, I suppose.

When my nephews got married I also took a bunch and pretended I was "working". Great practice.

I had a lot of fun with it. I have no illusions or aspirations of becoming a professional photographer, but I still like to improve my skills, even for a hobby (actually especially for a hobby...). I agree about it being good practice. I've already seen things I would try differently, such as not placing the gap in the redwood trees over the bride's head, and as Mark said, working on my white balance.

Best advice I got was to shoot in RAW and AWB. In post you can then change it.

next time take the dirt plastic glasses off and stage some wine glasses or champagne or flowers on top or just take the plastic cups off

Ah, thanks for the suggestion!. It would have looked much nicer with wine glasses or flowers on it.
