I had a chance to do some creative shots and play around with my Rogue Flash Gels. I was at my Parents house for a cook out today so I snapped a few shots of my Fathers 84 Corvette. I used a bright red gel on these first six shots, and a blue and yellow gel on the last two. This was a blast and lot's of fun. I highly recommend playing around with lighting gels if you haven't already and the chance arises!

And here I am thinking (from the title) it's photos of one stripped right down to the Gel Coat. I've got lots of that style of photo.

Sorry I misled you cicopo! :) This was my first time using the lighting gels. I can't get over how something so simple can make such a big difference to a photo. Very fun using them. I would love to see some of your photos using gels if you don't mind sharing.

No photos using Gels but lots of Corvettes stripped of all paint right down to the gel coat, which is the outermost layer of the older fiberglass panels. Once they switched to using Sheet Molded Compound panels the need for a gel coat was eliminated. (My day job is Corvette restoration).

I see what you did there now! You misled me in your first reply, I took that as you ment you had photo's using lighting gels. I guess we're even! :D You and I have a bit in common as well. I to work in the restoration, & custom car field. So I have had my share of old fiberglass as well. You probably have dealt with far more of than I. I deal more with the steel bodies than glass, thank God! I feel for you, fiber glass can be an animal. What year did they start using SMC on the Vettes? Was it with the C5's?

I think GM started using SMC in the 76 or 77 era & had fully switched when the C4 came out. I've done lots of early Camaros too but prefer working with glass. I knew you were in the trade too thanks to many of your posts. The shop you work in does some very fine work. I'm at the end of the road restoring & working on semi retirement / finishing personal projects.
