I was planning on spending the afternoon shooting the Blue Angels from the Cleveland Airshow, but I scrapped that idea and went off to a local park with the family instead.
Turned out to be a better choice! We quickly notice this red-tailed hawk in a dead tree, and in a few minutes he put on his own demonstration. First he posed in the tree, then flew down to the ground 50-75 feet in front of us.. after several minutes of hunting (and posing) he flew back up into the tree. I am rarely this lucky...
I have a near 0% keeper rate of birds-in-flight, this shot is why I keep trying ...
... on the other hand, this should have been easy but I missed the focus on every shot where he was staring right at us.
