Leucism is a defect in color pigmentation at the cellular level. Color morph is an actual coloration developed within the species bloodline. The Reddish Egret is dimorphic, seen in both the standard(dark) and the white morph, as is the Great Blue Heron. Most commonly leucism is seen in the pied form, dark/normal eye coloration and a majority of white feathering with some normal pigment mixed in. In some the darker pigment can be seen as a majority of the coloration with patches of white. Interesting. Learned something new. Thank you.
