This young guy has been hanging around my feeders....I have seen the results, but today is the first time I've actually seen him drop in to have a look around. The bristle brushes were a misguided attempt on my part to make the feeders squirrel-proof ;)

The bird is perfect! Now, let's see how good you Photoshop skills are in turning those bristles into a branch. Still, birds are where you find them, so what the heck. BTW, mount your bird feeder on a length of 4" PVC and away from any trees; it's virtually squirrel proof. It's too big a diameter for them to get their arms around and too slippery to boot.

Thanks very much Al. My photoshop skills suck bigtime....I tried to get rid of that wire in the upper right, above the bird's shoulder, and gave up ;)

Very nice Ian.

If I remember right a Sparrowhawk is a Kestrel. You look to have a Sharp-shinned Hawk.

I'm OK with him here John, he has to live too. He'll move on before long.

Ha, good one Ian.

He's using the bristle brushes as a "boot cleaner" for his talons.

Sweet shot.
