I really like the reflections in the foreground but the processing does not work for me, it's too much.

I would agree...a little overprocessed, and a little too busy

What else you got in this series?

I've spent time at this location last year and attempted to photograph several sunrise & sunsets last fall. Unfortunately for me the sky was completely cloudless and there was no spectacular colors to be captured. This location needs clouds at sunset to make this a truly iconic shot.

With that in mind here are my comments:

1) PP is way overdone and the image does not look natural

2) I think vertical shot would've been better and if you rotated your POV to look directly at the lighthouse

3) You have too much empty sky

4) Your foreground (reflection in the water) is darker than the sky, reflection should have as close exposure to what it is reflecting as possible

5) I agree that the picture is too busy, there are a lot of elements and instead of it being a lighthouse picture you have a picture of a few houses next to some rocks & reflection in the water. The lines in your picture go all over and do not lead to the main subject

This is how I remember my last sunset @ Pemaquid Point

I agree with you...I just cant write as well:rolleyes:...I like your crop much better, but if applied to his photo, I think I would like his better. I like his angle better, especially that the residence seems separated from the lighthouse in his shot. I would have cropped his to include the lighthouse and the house in the reflection.

Does that make any sense?

I am not sure where you got the idea that my image was a crop of a larger image. This is a full image as I took it. I like to get the best possible image out of the camera without relying on heavy PP.

The lines in the rock coming out of the center and expanding down to the reflection are the main thing imo.
A good abstract approach to the subject.
